Travel guide
Traveling on a GLP-1 without the worry.
How long your medicine can stay out of the fridge, what to pack for the plane, and how to keep your dose day across time zones.
Out of the fridge, by medicine
From each medicine's FDA label. Never freeze them, and keep them out of heat and direct sun (a hot car can pass 86°F fast).

Compounded medicines have no FDA label; ask the pharmacy that made yours how to store it.
At the airport
- Keep your medicine in your carry-on, not a checked bag, so it stays with you and away from freezing or lost luggage.
- Airport security allows medically necessary liquids and injectable medicines with their needles in carry-on bags. Tell the officer at the start of screening and keep them in their pharmacy-labeled boxes.
- Cold packs to keep medicine cool are allowed too; mention them to the officer.
- Rules change, so check tsa.gov (or your airline and destination country) before you fly.
Time zones
- Weekly shots can be taken at any time of day, so keep your usual day in the local time where you are.
- Need to move your dose day for the trip? Zepbound and Mounjaro: their labels allow it as long as there are at least 3 days between the two doses.
- Need to move your dose day for the trip? Wegovy and Ozempic: their labels allow it as long as there are at least 2 days between the two doses.
- Daily pills: take them in the morning where you are. For the Wegovy pill, Rybelsus and Ozempic tablets, keep the empty stomach and the 30-minute wait.
- Missed one while traveling? Check what your label says.
Packing list
