Working it out…
This repeats the FDA label and works in your browser; nothing you enter is sent anywhere. It isn't medical advice. If your prescriber told you something different, follow them, and ask your pharmacist if you're unsure. Sthira works this out for you automatically from your dose log.
What the Foundayo label says
- Taking it
- Once a day, with or without food, at any time. Swallow it whole; no more than one tablet a day.
- Missed a dose
- Take it as soon as you can, and don't double up the next one. After 7 or more missed in a row, the prescriber restarts at a lower dose.
- Out of the fridge
- Store at room temperature, 68–77°F; short spells between 59°F and 86°F are fine.
- Insulin or diabetes pills
- Also taking insulin or a sulfonylurea (like glipizide or glimepiride)? The label warns that low blood sugar is more likely, and your prescriber may lower those doses. Know the signs: shakiness, sweating, a fast heartbeat or confusion.
- Birth control pills
- It can make them work less well. The label says to switch to a non-pill method or add a barrier method (like condoms) for 30 days after starting and 30 days after each dose increase.
