Working it out…
This repeats the FDA label and works in your browser; nothing you enter is sent anywhere. It isn't medical advice. If your prescriber told you something different, follow them, and ask your pharmacist if you're unsure. Sthira works this out for you automatically from your dose log.
What the Zepbound label says
- Missed a dose
- Take it as soon as you can within 4 days of when it was due. After that, skip it and keep your usual day.
- Moving your dose day
- Fine, as long as there are at least 3 days between the two doses.
- Out of the fridge
- Keep in the fridge. A single-dose pen or vial can be kept out of the fridge, up to 86°F, for a total of 21 days. A KwikPen or multi-dose vial: throw away 30 days after first use or after 4 weekly doses.
- Insulin or diabetes pills
- Also taking insulin or a sulfonylurea (like glipizide or glimepiride)? The label warns that low blood sugar is more likely, and your prescriber may lower those doses. Know the signs: shakiness, sweating, a fast heartbeat or confusion.
- Birth control pills
- It can make them work less well. The label says to switch to a non-pill method or add a barrier method (like condoms) for 4 weeks after starting and 4 weeks after each dose increase.
