Side effects

Diarrhea on a GLP-1. What helps.

  • Drink water and an electrolyte drink to replace what you lose.
  • Choose bland foods like rice, bananas and toast; limit greasy food and sugar-free sweets with sugar alcohols.

Call your doctor if: It lasts more than two days, or you feel dizzy or very thirsty.

Don't change or skip a dose on your own. If side effects are hard to live with, ask your prescriber; they can adjust your plan.

Get urgent care for severe stomach pain that won't go away (it may spread to your back), vomiting so you can't keep fluids down, fainting, signs of an allergic reaction, or a lump or swelling in your neck.

General self-care, based on the 2025 GLP-1 nutrition advisory and the medicines' patient information. Not medical advice.

Is it tied to your dose day?
