Side effects

Skin tingling or sensitivity on a GLP-1. What helps.

  • Altered skin feeling (tingling, burning or sore-to-the-touch skin) is a listed side effect of Wegovy, more common at the 7.2 mg dose.
  • Note where and when it happens, so you can describe it to your prescriber.
  • Soft, loose clothing and lukewarm showers are often gentler while it lasts.

Call your doctor if: It's strong or spreading, or comes with numbness, weakness or a rash. Mention it at your next visit either way.

Don't change or skip a dose on your own. If side effects are hard to live with, ask your prescriber; they can adjust your plan.

Get urgent care for severe stomach pain that won't go away (it may spread to your back), vomiting so you can't keep fluids down, fainting, signs of an allergic reaction, or a lump or swelling in your neck.

General self-care, based on the 2025 GLP-1 nutrition advisory and the medicines' patient information. Not medical advice.
