Side effects
Very low appetite on a GLP-1. What helps.
- Eat protein first at every meal, even if it's a few bites.
- Keep easy protein ready: Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, a protein shake, string cheese, eggs.
- Eat by the clock every 3 to 4 hours instead of waiting to feel hungry.
Call your doctor if: You're eating very little most days, or losing weight faster than about 1% of your body weight a week.
Don't change or skip a dose on your own. If side effects are hard to live with, ask your prescriber; they can adjust your plan.
Get urgent care for severe stomach pain that won't go away (it may spread to your back), vomiting so you can't keep fluids down, fainting, signs of an allergic reaction, or a lump or swelling in your neck.
General self-care, based on the 2025 GLP-1 nutrition advisory and the medicines' patient information. Not medical advice.
